Kunda stone churchThe first church was erected in Kunda in 1904, but was destroyed in a fire. The current church was completed in 1921 according to the designs of architect Ernst Künter.
What makes the church unique is its tower, which is the only one in Estonia where the church bell is not within the tower but outside of it. Did you know…? Unlike almost all other churches, the Kunda stone church is ‘back to front’ – with the altar to the west and the main door to the east. |
