North Estonian Coastline.

Section 35. Vasavere‒Toila.

On the klint edge, on the banks of Pühajõe river valley, the 75 ha species rich park with more than 200 taxa of tree species is waiting for visitors from the beginning of 20th century. The park has seen better and worse times and today attracts with diverse alleys and tree groups, natural plant cover in the underlying forest and richness of nesting birds. The lowland between the sea and the North-Estonian klint is covered with thicker and taller forest, with specific microclimate, water regime and soil and nutrient types. Because of its exuberance and impassibility, it is sometimes called local jungle or North rain forest. The lower front is formed by high and dense ferns together with hops twisting and dropping from the tree trunks.
