A straight trail, by the side of which grow young stands regenerating as a result of forest management, alternating with single older forest stands. More than 100 years old woods, where spruce trees and aspens grow, are also suitable habitats for the flying squirrels. The stand on Lohusuu side is dominated by pine, while on the Avinurme side deciduous and mixed forests prevail.
