Lake Durbe and the surrounding meadows are an important habitat for birds to nest and feed. There is an observation tower on the western shore of Lake Durbe, that offers a panoramic view across the lake. The tower is equipped with a landscape telescope, ideal for viewing both the scenery and birdlife. Nearby lies Latvia’s smallest town, Durbe, known for its small-town charm and rich history. Birds observed hereVarious geese and ducks, corncrake, bittern, shoveler a.o.
