The course of the route: Aizpute – Kazdanga – Snēpele
Road surface: Gravel roads, asphalt in Snēpele. In Kazdanga – paths and park trails.
Difficulty: If in one day hard, easy if in two days.
Danger points: Be careful when walking along the side of the road! Be especially careful at the turn of the Aizpute–Kazdanga road (Jelgavas street) behind the Laža water reservoir!
Good to know! There are no shops or catering sites from Kazdanga to Snēpele. The house “Skabuļi” (56.70846, 21.68058) has a dog that often meets hikers outside the yard. To get past the dog, you can contact the dog owner Aiga, +371 26516640. In this house, travellers are offered to buy organic forest and meadow honey, in the autumn season – apples, in summer – currants, cherries, blackcurrants.
Alternatives: It is recommended to divide the section into two days, spending the night in the farmstead “Zemturi” (19 km), and go to Snēpele (15 km) the next day.
