Estonian History Museum – Maarjamäe Palace. Estonian Film Museum.
The palace and the surrounding park were awarded the Best Tourism Object and Development Award in 2018. Film museum provides an overview of the history of Estonian films and the behind the scenes of the world's film industry.
The Estonian History Museum is located in several locations in Tallinn: Maarjamäe Palace, the Great Guild Hall, the Film and Theatre and Music Museum, and the Särev Theatre Room.
The permanent exhibition "My Free State" located in the summer manor with a colorful past, Maarjamäe Palace, takes visitors on a journey through the hundred-year history of the Republic of Estonia, from the birth of the state to the present day. The exhibition introduces important events, societal development, and the formation of freedoms, allowing one to experience what it means to live in an independent country. The palace complex includes a park and outdoor area where Soviet-era monuments removed from public spaces are displayed.
For smaller visitors, a playful and educational "Children's Republic" has been created, where children can try leading the country, elect a president, and learn about the organization of a democratic state through play.
On the museum grounds of Maarjamäe Palace, there is also a stable building, which is part of the Estonian History Museum's exhibition and educational environment, that houses an education center and the museum library.
