Pāvilosta is an attractive coastal town where the proximity to the sea permeates local culture and daily life. The surrounding area offers extensive beaches and natural areas with unique biodiversity. Here, you can arrange a boat trip with a local captain to explore both the sea and the Saka River, observing the area’s natural diversity. Several observation towers are set up along the coast, one equipped with a telescope. Another tower is located at sea level near the Saka River, ideal for observing bird diversity along the pier. Birds observed hereBirds of prey such as the common kestrel, Eurasian hobby, hen harrier, osprey and European honey buzzard can be observed during migration. Passerine birds use dunes and shrubland as resting and foraging areas.
