Alguses leegitses tuletorni tipus päris lõke. Tuletorn on ainuke 18. sajandist säilinud kehandiga töötav tuletorn Eestis. Tuletorni ümbritseb tuletorni linnak. Kompleks on muinsuskaitse all ja eravalduses.
